When we were all busy looking for a dime
You and all your books
Mommy be the cook
But everyday I can't help myself but to think
About that bicycle painted pink
About the day we saw it in Wallmart
But I was only 7, and I had to be wise and smart
You and mom and Debbie were all I had
In a far far place, what an experience we had
Tis such a lux wasn't it, to have some money to spare
So between studies mom worked in the day care
Not to forget, a school in the morning
Nothing can stop her, she was a fighter surviving
And then in the midst of my longing
You reminded me that there's father almighty watching
So you taught me how to pray for something
And only by wisdom and God's grace will He be willing
To someday grant the wish I so much desired
And so every night before bed,
we prayed and prayed and prayed
To my surprise, God did answer my prayers
We had extra money, how did it happen?
There's no explanation really
It was a blessing from God
A father's loving heart
And the power of prayer
I felt that I was the luckiest girl in the world
You taught how to pray
But as a preacher, you knew better
To practice what you preach
And become God's living vessel
I am always profoundly amazed and touched
By the sight of you praying
every morning of your life at four
By the stillness, devout figure you have
The face of surenderrness as much as the firmness
Of the commitment to serve
You don't need to remind me
Of how you prayed for me from Jakarta
I know for sure, it's the only thing we have left
You, mom and Debbie
So far apart, yet so close in prayers
So close like the term "God's just a prayer away"
That's all it is and ever will be
I am calm and strengthened by it
I hope you can hear mine too
Thank you for tea
ching me how to pray
My prayers for you is that your life would be fulfilled
With happiness for the things you've done and dreamed of
And by the abiding love God has taught us
Through the power of prayers.
